You will want to find the following information:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Deductible Information<\/strong><\/p>\n<p id=\"viewer-2ougv\" class=\"xVISr Y9Dpf bCMSCT OZy-3 lnyWN yMZv8w bCMSCT public-DraftStyleDefault-block-depth0 fixed-tab-size public-DraftStyleDefault-text-ltr\"><span class=\"B2EFF public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\">A <em>deductible <\/em>is the amount that a patient owes for care before the insurance company will pay for services. Therefore, when a patient has a deductible, they will be responsible for the entire amount of the session before the insurance company will pay anything.<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"viewer-fs0uv\" class=\"xVISr Y9Dpf bCMSCT OZy-3 lnyWN yMZv8w bCMSCT public-DraftStyleDefault-block-depth0 fixed-tab-size public-DraftStyleDefault-text-ltr\"><span class=\"B2EFF public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\">For example, if a patient has a <strong>$3,000.00 <\/strong><em>deductible <\/em>and your allowable amount is <strong>$100.00<\/strong>, the patient will have 30 sessions paying <strong>$100.00 <\/strong>before the insurance company pays anything.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Copay or Coinsurance Information<\/strong><\/p>\n<p id=\"viewer-1l0ip\" class=\"xVISr Y9Dpf bCMSCT OZy-3 lnyWN yMZv8w bCMSCT public-DraftStyleDefault-block-depth0 fixed-tab-size public-DraftStyleDefault-text-ltr\"><span class=\"B2EFF public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\">A <em>copay or coinsurance <\/em>is the amount that a patient owes after the deductible is met. Therefore, if a patient has a <strong>$20.00 <\/strong>copay after their deductible, the patient will pay <strong>$20.00 <\/strong>per session after they have met their <em>deductible<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"viewer-1ptre\" class=\"xVISr Y9Dpf bCMSCT OZy-3 lnyWN yMZv8w bCMSCT public-DraftStyleDefault-block-depth0 fixed-tab-size public-DraftStyleDefault-text-ltr\"><span class=\"B2EFF public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\">Or if a patient has a coinsurance, they will owe a percentage of the allowable amount. For example, a patient have have an <strong>80\/20<\/strong> plan where the insurance plan will pay 80% of the allowable and the patient will owe <em>20%<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"viewer-dngrd\" class=\"xVISr Y9Dpf bCMSCT OZy-3 lnyWN yMZv8w bCMSCT public-DraftStyleDefault-block-depth0 fixed-tab-size public-DraftStyleDefault-text-ltr\"><span class=\"B2EFF public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\">Therefore, if your allowable amount is <strong>$100.00 <\/strong>then the patient is going to pay <strong>$20.00 <\/strong>and the insurance will pay <strong>$80.00<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"viewer-104df\" class=\"xVISr Y9Dpf bCMSCT OZy-3 lnyWN yMZv8w bCMSCT public-DraftStyleDefault-block-depth0 fixed-tab-size public-DraftStyleDefault-text-ltr\"><span class=\"B2EFF public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\">What if your allowable is a strange number? Once the patient reaches this amount, they should owe exactly <strong>$0.00<\/strong> for your services for the rest of the plan year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"viewer-bgrnp\" class=\"xVISr Y9Dpf bCMSCT OZy-3 lnyWN yMZv8w bCMSCT public-DraftStyleDefault-block-depth0 fixed-tab-size public-DraftStyleDefault-text-ltr\"><span class=\"B2EFF public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\">This is number is usually very high. It is not uncommon for an out-of-pocket maximum to reach or exceed <strong>$5,000.00<\/strong> or <strong>$10,000.00<\/strong>. However, all medical expenses count toward the out of pocket maximum.<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"viewer-b5e8q\" class=\"xVISr Y9Dpf bCMSCT OZy-3 lnyWN yMZv8w bCMSCT public-DraftStyleDefault-block-depth0 fixed-tab-size public-DraftStyleDefault-text-ltr\"><span class=\"B2EFF public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\">Therefore, it is not uncommon to have patients start treatment in August, September, or October
